Jeremy Abelson

Jeremy Abelson is the Portfolio Manager at Irving Investors, a long/short event driven equity fund that also participates in private investment opportunities. Abelson looks at all areas of the market and focuses on high growth companies and disruptive technologies. The firm has offices in New York and Colorado.

Jeremy began his career in marketing. He then founded Urban Hostess in 2005, his first entrepreneurial venture. Urban Hostess sells real estate focused corporate relocation software to numerous Fortune 500 companies. As President of Urban Hostess, Abelson was responsible for negotiating contracts with JPMorgan, UBS, Credit Suisse, and Bank of America, among others. Urban Hostess was acquired in 2011 by MNS, a New York based real estate brokerage and investment company.

In 2006, Jeremy started Pocket Change, an e-publication covering luxury items in New York and Los Angeles. Pocket Change grew rapidly to include an e-newsletter, broadband video channel, blog and multiple promotional platforms. In 2008, Jeremy sold Pocket Change to thelab, a media production company.

Jeremy has appeared as an expert on multiple television shows and in popular publications including: CNN, CNBC, Fox Business News, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The NYTimes, The WSJ, and The NYPost.

He also speaks regularly at New York University, Columbia Business School and the New York Media Summit.

Jeremy is originally from Silicon Valley and graduated from The University of Michigan.
